The American Association of University Women is a nonprofit organization that promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education and positive societal change. They provide funds to advance education, support research and self-development for women, and foster equity and positive societal change.

The Rochester branch, formed in 1897, is one of the oldest branches in the country. It is one of 1500 local branches engaged in a variety of programs, ranging from voter education to working with local schools and organizations, to raising money for the AAUW Educational Foundation and Legal Advocacy Fund. We regularly schedule many other educational, cultural and social events that foster networking opportunities, leadership development, and camaraderie among college-educated women. Most of these events take place in our beautiful mansion on East Avenue.

To defray to costs of maintaining the Perkins Mansion, home of the Rochester branch, the Association also books unaffiliated events in the mansion.
