Barnes and Noble is a national chain book store with four locations in the Rochester area.
The largest¹ is in Pittsford Plaza near Super Wegmans. Massive and open late, with comfortable seating throughout² ³, its spacious and inviting layout makes this an ideal location to escape obligations for a few hours at a time. It also features a Starbucks coffee shop. Criticisms of the Pittsford store are the generally the same as those for the town of Pittsford, where it is located.

All locations offer storytime for children. The Pittsford location also offers topic-related book clubs. All activities are listed on the store websites.

Barnes & Noble was voted "Best Book Shop" in City Newspaper's 'Best Of' awards in 2002.⁴

2If you're looking for a great hiding place to curl up with a book, check out the comfy chairs next to the window in the used book section.
3Regarding those comfy chairs, I've heard/read from several B&N employees that you really wouldn't want to sit in those chairs if you knew how gross and filthy they become due to 'abuse' by various customers... some B&N outlets have apparently removed them because they get so gross.
