Costco is a national chain wholesale club with a location in the city's Upper Mount Hope neighborhood. It is part of the CityGate development. Amenities include a food court, grocery, gas station, pharmacy, optical department, hearing aid center, photo center, cartridge refill, and a tire service center.
Note that most purchases require a Costco membership. Exceptions are alcohol and prescription drugs.
The Rochester Costco opened its doors on June 5, 2015.

2015-06-06 13:33:10 Pro tip: Just like BJ's and Sam's Club, Costco can require a membership for all purchases except things which are regulated by the government. So you can buy beer here for your party at a discount even if you don't have a membership. Prescription drugs and cigarettes fall under this as well. Be prepared that many employees may not know this & you may have to get a manager. This is a state by state law, but most states have this or similar laws in place. —badfish
