I wasn't expecting anything great because of the price but I was impressed again. Having been on Sanibel Island I was tempted to order the conch fritters and grouper but went for a medium rare prime rib. It was thick, tasty and juicy! The baked potato was also perfect and the side of au jus added to the flavor of the meat. Dessert was a delicous warm slice of granny smith apple pie with caramel. I was full but couldn't pass it up. It was a nice size large enough to share yet not too big for one person. We felt very welcome here and look forward to going back often. The prices are very resonable! The description of the dishes in the menu along with the descriptions of their specials sound upscale. Everything is great until the food comes. - - The dinner salad is what you'd expect from a diner. All iceberg, a couple croutons, a couple of cherry tomatoes and a slice of cucumber. They give you your dressing in a plastic to-go side cup. My Entree was a shrimp and pasta dish with a basil pesto sauce, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms and artichokes. Sounds pretty flavor packed, right? Not so much. First, the pasta was literally drowned in the sauce, which was to much oil and not enough garlic, basil, pine nuts (if there were pine nuts). When I was done, I had a pool of oil on my plate (literally over 2 Tbsp). On top of that, it was just flat. The most flavorful thing about the dish was the artichokes. On a positive side, the shrimp were decent sized and they weren't over cooked. - - My wife had their eggplant parm special. She said it was OK, but it was cut very thin and it was on the dry side. She said she would have rather had the eggplant from Bazils though. - - As for the prices, they're very reasonable. The eggplant was $12ish with the salad and my dinner was $15.95 (I think). The problem is that there's nothing that makes me want to go back. The atmosphere and (most of) the menu say trendy, but the food doesn't. I'd compare it to Flag's down the road, except Flag's knows what it is; really good bar food and a step up. You go into Flag's expecting good sandwiches and a fish fry, which you get, but they also have decent pasta dishes as well.
