The East End Music Festival, sponsored by the Downtown Fitness Club, is an annual neighborhood festival featuring live music on six stages. The festival occurs once a month during the summer months of June, July, and August. It usually is scheduled for the first Friday, unless another one of the numerous Rochester summer festivals conflicts with the date. They are held from 5-11pm. Be aware that if there is inclement weather, the festival may be canceled, or moved indoors.

The 2009 dates are June 5, July 10, and August 14.

The festival organizers block off the East End district, which includes part of East Avenue and wraps around to Alexander Street. Vendors from various beer companies set up tents, and often area bars advertise specials for the festival. J.D. Salingers, for example, sells plastic mugs for each year's string of festivals and offers a discounted price for refills.
