Incarnate Word Lutheran Church was formed in 1960 from a merger of the area's two oldest Lutheran congregations, Zion (1831) and Concordia (1877). Their current building, located on the corner of East Avenue and Goodman Street, was completed two years later. Their symbolism revolves around "The Word of God Communicated" theme, as revealed through their custom-designed stained glass windows.
The Community Arts Academy after-school program meets five days a week in the church's lower level.
They are a Host Congregation for RAIHN.
