Jim and Ralph's is a ground round diner in Gates that rivals Bill Gray's, Tom Wahl's or Don's Original. Also does catering.

From the owner:

"Jim and Ralph's has moved right around the corner to 904 Elmgrove Rd, between the Total Sports Experience and the Westside YMCA...
We brought the old grill which means the burgers taste exactly the same. No more breakfasts but try our Tuesday night Steak Buffet and Wed night Rib and Chicken Buffet."

2006-11-17 11:27:55   You have to go there and try their amazing breakfast! —CarlGo

2007-01-06 18:14:30   Bill Gray's over Jim and Ralph's. Never. There is far more flavor in a burger from J&Rs. Their sloppy plate is comparable to Tahou's, and since they are closer to me I will get more. And I agree with CarlGo. Every Sunday morning that the wife does not have to work, you will find us there for breakfast, Sean makes one heck of a breakfast. And everything we have ordered has been delicious. —WilliamBorrelli

2007-04-29 15:43:30   J&R's burgers were great. Can't understand anyone going into the Bill Gray's, the next buiding on the street. Although I need to knock J&R's down a few green stars; everything came on/in that most toxic of food containers, styrofoam. I feel badly that our styro plates and cups will be sitting in the landfill for the next couple of thousand years! (not to mention the pollution from the oil used to make them- we know how badly the oil companies need profit.) Jim, Ralph, may I suggest that you simply put the burgers into one of the plastic baskets like the great onion rings came in? Or just wrap them in paper, or if you feel the need to put a burger on a plate, how about a paper plate? —ScotFear

2008-09-30 15:40:50   Sadly Sean is not serving Breakfast there any longer. And I have not found a good breakfast since. Sean was not afraid to add spices and other "flavors" to his Three Egg Pie (Omelet). Every Omelet I have had since Sean stopped cooking, has been mediocre at best. Without adding spices, eggs is eggs. Word has it Sean may have his own place soon. (or is it Shawn?) —WilliamBorrelli

2008-10-01 11:13:09   Jim and Ralphs is a dirty place with the typical Rochester ground steak. The food was nothing special, but not bad. I was wearing a suit when I went and the employees looked at me like I had a blue head. Dons Original and Wimpys burger basket are better options. —MrRochester

2009-05-10 21:31:46   Yeah, Sean has moved on from Jim and Ralph's, but I saw him at a pizza shop down the road. It is on Buffalo Rd. next to the old Dave Green's auto world. He is making amazing pizzas, and I think he is still doing a Sunday breakfast at this new location (I haven't tried it yet, though)! —CarlGo

2009-06-29 02:56:31   the new location is really nice! no longer stick to the tables!! —JcPop
