They're knocking out part of the wall in the back left corner (as you're facing into the restaurant) to connect to the new space, which will include a waiting area as well as a few more tables. I think she also said that they're remodeling the rest of the place. --["RachelBlumenthal"]
------
2008-02-26 19:55:13 nbsp Alright, Jine's is a wonderful diner right around the corner from my house. That being said, there are a couple different places on Park Ave. that i would probably prefer over a trip to Jine's. Tonight a group of us (4) went to Jine's to check out the new remodel and get some comfort food. I have no problems with their menu, but tonight was easily the worst service I have ever experienced there. Let's hope that it was because of lack of additional wait staff of the very recent remodel and not a new trend... --["TrippinOnTheFuture"]
------
2008-04-20 13:07:38 nbsp Went there Saturday morning. The wait was not too bad-5 minutes. It was my first time there since they remodeled. I like the differences and it seemed to have reduced the wait time. The owner dude was there and as friendly and efficient as usual. I need to stick to Jine's and quit trying other places that disappoint me. --["BadFish"]
------
2008-04-20 16:46:47 nbsp Great food, good service, love the wide variety of menu items - and the renovation looks great!! --["GreenBrenana"]
------
2008-04-21 09:56:38 nbsp Jines is a great diner and I love their pancakes! The reno looks good too! --["users/MrRochester"]
------
2008-07-28 14:03:53 nbsp Very busy. The menu is extensive. So is the line for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.

I've eaten very simply at Jine's (corned beef sandwich, lox & cream cheese on a bagel), but you can go very upscale.

There is a lot of outdoor seating - great for breakfast or lunch. Great sitting outside. --["RickUrwin"]
------
2006-09-14 08:25:46 nbsp Ah, Jine’s! Back “in the day” Jine’s used to be a real neighborhood diner. You know, one of those places that had been around forever and had real character. It even had a long counter with stools running down the length of the place and you could watch them cook right in front of you. After the pastel-colored re-model some time around the early 90’s it’s become more of a restaurant and lost its old-style diner charm. Now with tables outside blocking pedestrians from comfortably walking down the sidewalk, it’s lost all appeal. I hear the food is still good though. It’s perfectly located and one of the favored spots to see and be seen. --["ZedOmega"]
------
2006-09-14 12:30:17 nbsp Just looking for plain ol' eggs and sausage, I was half stunned, half laughing (inside, of course), when the server launched into "today's special is crab legs..." Sigh. I understand the motivation behind trying to class up - it's just not always the best business decision, considering the thriving $10-and-under market in that stretch/vicinity. --["ChristineLeo"]
------
2006-09-14 14:00:22 nbsp What do you mean, "class up"? Jine's has always had a large menu with much more than "plain ol' eggs and sausage". If that's what you're looking for, I suggest you try IHOP or a diner, although based on all your comments, those may seem a bit too lower class for you. --["RachelBlumenthal"]
------
2006-09-15 11:52:19 nbsp Completely agree with Rachel...you should stop trying to be such a critic Christine...yer not being paid enough --["Users/PeteB"]
------
2006-09-18 06:26:01 nbsp I completely agree with Christine. And I encourage her to continue giving her honest opinions based upon her personal experiences. After all, that is what these ‘Comments’ sections are for. --["ZedOmega"]
------
2006-11-15 22:41:44 nbsp I haven't been in Rochester long enough to know what Jine's apparently used to be, but I've eaten there a number of times and have always been pleased. The only subpar dish I ever had was the tabbouleh salad, which didn't have nearly enough parsley, but there are plenty of other places in Rochester to get good tabbouleh. The portions are also on the large side, at least for the salads and pasta. --["StevenDibelius"]
------
2007-01-05 21:33:40 nbsp Perhaps the best staffed eatery in rochester, in quality and quantity. --["JoeMurty"]
------
2007-01-14 08:34:41 nbsp This place is both upscale and cozy, with charming service and a great location. In the heart of lively Park Avenue, this is a tradition for weekend brunch for many Rochestarians. You can sit inside or outside and people watch. The interior's pastel colors are kind of 90's-ish, but the decor is subdued and clean. The food rates good to excellent, depending on the dish you get. Their french toast, corned beef hash and eggs are great. They do serve lunch and dinner, so I think of it as an upscale diner. The prices are moderate, though. --["BenMargolis"]
------
2007-01-29 10:34:36 nbsp Aside from the overwhelming disappointment that arises from being served chips with your hot diner-y sandwiches instead of fries, Jine's is pretty tasty. I guess I might argue that it's slighly overpriced for what you might be expecting when you walk in, but the Sam & George never disappoints me (except for the aforementioned chip/fry issue). --["MisterElkington"]
------
2007-03-27 13:28:42 nbsp Basically Jines is a dinner that tries to look all high class. I'm not a big fan of the chips either, as they are kettle style, too hard for my tastes. The food is good, have had breakfast and lunch here, it's nice to sit outside in the summer but there are better meals to be had on Park Ave. --["TravisOwens"]
------
2007-05-04 21:59:27 nbsp Great omelets, and a great perk to be able to order them with cage-free
eggs! --["LaurelAi"]
------
2007-05-05 10:40:00 nbsp I love Jine's. They know what they are, and don't try to do too much with it. Its a diner, to the above comments, its not supposed to be pretty. Outdoor seating, excellent staff, and great food. I have not had a bad meal here after around 15 meals at different days/times of day. --["CharlieBeltram"]
------
2007-07-20 11:58:57 nbsp This is one of my personal favorite restaurants in Rochester. Perhaps it is the nostalgia of living around the corner in my fun days of college but I have never had a bad experience here. Over the past 12 years I have been there for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and just for coffee. I do agree with not liking "chips" as a side and fries as an extra. No one here mentioned the nightly specials!!! There are fantastic original specials invented by the chef and it is pretty exciting to be surprised with fresh ideas. I love Jines, you really can't go wrong here. --["ElaineRobinson"]
------
2007-07-20 14:04:47 nbsp Clarification on the fries/chips issue: Chips are served with the cold sandwiches which are mostly priced under $5, fries come with the hot sandwiches which are generally between $5 and $8. (Except the hot dog and grilled cheese which are about $4!) If get a sandwich there that comes with fries, I upgrade to sweet potato fries.
I went there last night and had the Gyro sandwich which was very good but not their best. I love their food though. It is my fave "mainstream" sit down restaurant. --["BadFish"]
------
2007-10-06 21:10:05 nbsp Is Jine's really a ["Diners" diner]? They're really pricey and don't really have a diner feel to them. --["JoannaLicata"]
------
2007-10-08 15:05:25 nbsp I've never had a bad experience at Jines. Well, if they didn't they were a different species.
Anyway, back in the day when I lived in a big brick apt. building on Park and Berkeley, now a drug store, what else, Jines was just one of many, many Greek owned diners. There were lots of them and they all had breakfast all day and great home fries.

A couple of months ago I was in the area and stopped at Jines for lunch. Burger and home fries was what I craved with a nice milk shake. What a shock. --["HenriettaRob"]
------
2007-11-28 11:44:56 nbsp Great food. Great service. We go there at least once a month. Tables outside in the warm weather. Great breakfast menu. --["RocGuy14610"]
------
2007-11-28 15:55:14 nbsp A bit upscale for a diner, Jines offers great food at a fair price. The servers are always attentive and prompt, although there may be a wait for a table during the busier times. --["JackPorcello"]
------
2007-11-28 16:37:13 nbsp I always enjoy eating at Jines, especially breakfast/brunch time in the summer. Sometimes there is a wait for a table, but it's never too bad since they seem to get people in and out of here really quick. Plus if it actually is a really long wait, there are plenty of other places to eat within walking distance. --["SaraChristine"]
------
2007-11-28 21:48:02 nbsp In todays D&C there was an article about Jine's.
