Kaufmann's

Kaufmann's was a national department store chain that originated in Pittsburgh, was owned by May Department Stores, then Federated Department Stores where it operated as part of Filene's organization.

In February 2006 all the Kaufmann's stores, including our four mall anchor stores, were assumed by Macy's and began operating under that name.

The Sibley's Department Store downtown became a Kaufmann's store in 1991 ¹ and closed in the 1990's.
