People For A Better Bus Station have been fighting the 'Cave under the Renaissance Square' idea of a bus station since it was first mentioned. Like a lot of city projects, it seems that the city is totally ignoring the citizen input on this one. There are many problems with the proposed plan, and you can see the whole laundry list of problems (and potential problems) on the PFABB [WWW]Community Concerns page.

The most recent development in this initiative was an announcement at the Renaissance Square meeting on October 11, 2006 when they announced that the bus terminal will no longer be underground. The new terminal will be above ground and it seems to be quite efficient. They are making both Clinton and St. Paul two way streets to add to the bus station's efficiency. Full details can be seen on the [WWW]Renaissance Square Project (including the plans for the bus terminal).
