2007-05-28 14:32:22   Has anyone considered creating an integrated general "Sports" page to combine all of the collegiate and professional sports, and ten linking to that from the front page?

Currently, it's very hard to find sports activities unless you know exactly what you are looking for, which is not exactly Google-friendly.

Also, what do you think of creating a Team template, so that locations, phone numbers and web sites are more easily found. Most teams, collegiate or professional, maintain copies of their standings online. —DaveMahon

2007-05-29 21:48:05   I'm happy to work on it, but it will take some time. Between class, work and getting ready for in-laws, free time is going to be scarce in June. I suppose that's not a big deal though; the page was in this form for almost a year before a rabble rouser like myself decided to even propose a change.

I do have to wonder though. Should the Sports page be organized by type of sport (eg. soccer, baseball, etc) or tier of sport (eg. pro/collegiate/recreational/youth corresponds to Rhinos/Tigers/Rochester Sports Garden/Rochester Futball Club)?

Any opinions on the matter? —DaveMahon

2007-08-01 17:04:44   I just created a "Baseball", with the intent of hosting more than just team names on there, but links to all things baseball in Rochester. I think it would be cool to do it by sport, that way you could have links to teams, leagues, places to play that sport, training/practice facilities, etc. —AlexanderGartley
