Pure Kona consists of open-mic and scheduled performances centering on spoken word (poetry and prose mostly, and sometimes dabbling in song). Norm Davis hosts it at House of Hamez every other Thursday from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. The schedule is listed in the Calendar section of the House of Hamez website.
Pure Kona started in 1993 at Java's on Gibbs Street.
