The Rochester Rattlers, AKA Rattlers, are Rochester's professional outdoor lacrosse team. The team plays in [WWW]Major League Lacrosse, which was founded in 1999.

In 2008, the team won the Major League Lacrosse championship. However the team moved to Toronto and became the [WWW]Nationals on February 20, 2009. The history, colors, and name of the Rattlers franchise remained in Rochester so that they could be used for a future MLL team. On November 23, 2010, the Chicago Machine officially announced they would move to Rochester and resume play in 2011 under the Rochester Rattlers name; they finished their first season in last place with a 2-10 record. On August 23, 2014, the team returned to Major League Lacrosse championship game but lost to the [WWW]Denver Outlaws 11-12. After losing again in the 2015 Championship game the Rattlers just failed to make the 2016 playoffs on a regular season standings tiebreaker.

On November 16, 2017 the Rattlers announced they would be moving to Frisco TX and become the Dallas Rattlers for 2018.

2012-07-21 08:18:19   I am enjoying watching the Rattlers games. I even went to one game in person. It is good field lacrosse for sure. The price of the game was reasonable. —bonnev659
