"Ridge Road is a long east-west road spanning numerous counties and 120 miles across Upstate New York. The road is named for the nearby
Niagara Escarpment, which the road follows for its run between the town of Lewiston and the easternmost point of the ridge near Red Creek. "1
Rochester segments are West Ridge Road, East Ridge Road, and Ridge Road, East
Map referenced as "West Ridge Road", or Route 104, the road runs north of the city center, and is one of the major East-West roads in Monroe County. Many Kodak buildings, including Kodak Park, and other commercial properties, Malls and Shopping Centers, share the road with some residential areas. Most of the roadway through Monroe County is 4 or more lanes wide. From Lake Avenue east, Route 104 becomes an Expressway as it goes across the Genesee River into Irondequoit and loses the West Ridge Road designation. East Ridge Road begins at St. Paul Boulevard and is not part of Route 104.
See West Ridge Road for more details and attractions. |
About East Ridge Road: E. Ridge Road is the eastern portion of Ridge Road. Some important streets it passes along the way (travelling east to west) are Highway 104, I-590, Culver Road, and Portland Avenue. |
Ridge Road, East Segment
Map referenced as Ridge Road, and partially as Route 404, the eastern segment, see Ridge Road, East, starts east of Irondequoit Bay in Webster and travels through Webster Village and east into Wayne County. It approximately lines up with East Ridge Road across the bay.
