Rochester Art Supply is a classic downtown art supply store: medium-large, well-stocked, packed with neat-o things, with a knowledgeable and generally lovely staff who will order things for you that are not in-store. They host classes in various forms/mediums, and have pretty good sales.

2007-12-26 15:55:19 I'm not artsy myself, but I read a neat article in either the D&C or City about how much business they do through online sales, which I thought was interesting. They also hand make a type of brush (I think) that is hard to find elsewhere in the United States. I'm not recalling details of the article too well obviously, but it made me want to go in and check out their store! —SaraChristine
