Rochester Cash Mob is an event coordinated by the non-profit Genesee Center for the Arts and Education to promote the patronage of local, independent businesses in Rochester. A different business is chosen each month by vote on Facebook for a "cash mob hour" in which people are encouraged to stop by and spend at least $10.

The Cash Mob concept originated in Buffalo in 2011. The first Rochester Cash Mob was held at Thread in January 2012. More information is available at the [WWW]Cash Mob page.
