The Rochester Rattlers, AKA Rattlers, were Rochester's professional outdoor lacrosse team. The team played in
Major League Lacrosse, which was founded in 1999.
The local ownership includes Frank DuRoss, a key figure behind the Rochester Raging Rhinos soccer team, and Steve Donner, the man behind the Rochester Americans hockey club. Christopher Wilmot of the Wilmorite dynasty and Peter Bourne also took ownership stakes in early 2007.
In 2008, the team won the Major League Lacrosse championship.
The team moved to Toronto and became the
Nationals on February 20, 2009.
