Subway Erie Canal Revitalization Chill the Fill
The subway was built in the original Erie Canal bed after the Canal was rerouted out of Downtown Rochester.
This is an amazing piece of history that every Rochesterian should see.
Time is quickly running out!
In December, the City will spend $21 million to fill the subway with dirt!
S.E.C.R. is a local grassroots organization formed to try to stop Rochester's Historic Subway/Canal from being buried. We are seeking a moratorium, until the community can come to a consensus about how best to recycle the site.
