It is the best Korean food in town, though it is the only Korean food in town. It is not bad if you are looking for something different. -- ["MicahMilinovich"]
------
2006-07-15 02:22:38 nbsp I always have a great experience here - the service is lightning-fast, they give you tons of condiments, and everything tastes fresh and arrives sizzling and well-seasoned (they don't dumb down the spices). My barometers for measuring authenticity at ethnic restaurants are "how many people from the Country whose cuisine I am currently dining on eat here" and "how many specials are not written in English" -- don't worry -- Seoul Garden is always full of Korean families and they are always eating things that are most certainly not on my menu. -- ["RochesterGuy"]
------
2006-08-21 20:29:55 nbsp Heard about Seoul Garden through my husband, who raves about how good the bi bim bap is, and, after recently eating there, tend to concur. -- ["CatherineConnolly"]
------
2006-09-18 07:25:00 nbsp Until recently, the only choice for Korean in town and I’ve never been disappointed. They always seem to have a few open tables so there’s never a wait to sit. The table service is good and they are always willing to describe dishes the best they can. The food is always fresh, plentiful and satisfying. I’ve discovered some really great dishes that I try not to order too regularly because I like to experiment with new things when I go. The hostess however, leaves a lot to be desired as far as personality and politeness are concerned. --["ZedOmega"]
------
2006-11-18 10:27:22 nbsp I love this place. I particularly like the spicy stews. My favorite thing is the seafood pancake. It is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside--a giant plate of starchy goodness. --["JodyBenedict"]
------
2006-11-25 10:58:15 nbsp Went last night for the first time (never had Korean food before) and I thought Seoul Garden was excellent. I had the seafood pancake and it was delicious. The kimbap were also good, very mild. My friend had the japchae and it was very unusual (the slippery texture takes some getting used to) but we agreed that it also had good flavor. The waitress could have come around a couple more times to refill water, but otherwise everything was perfect, and I'll definitely be going back. --["AdrienneDahler"]
------
2006-11-26 15:14:43 nbsp A lot of the food is very spicy, so be careful what you order if that's not your thing. The food is good and an interesting change of pace, but the service is so-so. --["StevenDibelius"]
------
2007-02-06 13:56:21 nbsp I have tried maybe 10 or 12 entrees here, and they have all been great. My favorite is the rice dish that comes in a stone pot with a raw egg (which cooks at the table in the hot stone pot). It has an almost creamy texture and a flavor that's beyond description. Marvelous! I love the little dishes of stuff that come with every meal - they're good for practicing chop-stick skills. Eating here is an experience. --["EastSideStephen"]
------
2007-05-01 21:19:15 nbsp Great Korean food, definitely try it out if you're in the Rochester area --["GenePark"]
------
2007-09-12 14:56:09 nbsp For Korean food, it's pretty bland. And I don't like being told what to order. "Don't order that! You won't like! Get this!" I know Korean food and I know what I like. And we all know how lovely the host is. I'm glad other korean places have opened in town. --["MarcVera"]
------
2007-09-27 12:59:23 nbsp One of the best Korean restaurants in town (well there are only two)

Actually I think they do a great job. The stews are fantastic and the seafood pancake is to die for (reheat it in a cast iron skillet the next day for a treat).

I've never had any problems with the hostess... My family goes to SG all the time and all the staff are great with the kids (7 and 11) coaxing them to try new things and joking around.

I'm not a big fan of their bi bim bap. I find it to be a little mushy but thats only my personal taste (my wife loves it)

Definitely a great place for comfort food. --["MikeBobrow"]
------
2007-12-05 18:15:57 nbsp Been twice in the past month after about a year of no visits. As usual their food is great. Actually got a smile from the hostess. WOW! --["ZedOmega"]
------
2007-12-08 10:36:26 nbsp After being to all three korean restaurants in town, I think I can still say that I like Seoul Garden the best. There might be some bias to this since I've been to Seoul Garden more than the other two restaurants, but after thinking it through, Seoul Garden has the best tasting food. The only place where the other restaurants between Seoul Garden for me is the quality of meat and seafood. Seoul Garden could use major improvement in that sense.

None of the three's kalbi are anywhere close to my mom's, but I think Seoul Garden's is the best. --["RochesterCalifornia"]
------
