2011-06-05 03:46:55   This is a fantastic restaurant! I've been here a few times now, and feel this place deserves some praise. My parents and I decided to stop in for dinner after walking around Fairport Canal Days, and we're glad we did. :-)

Everything we had was delicious, and of the highest quality. I immediately noticed that the General Tso's chicken I had ordered was extremely lean, and bursting with flavor. Prior to this visit, I had tried a few more traditional dishes: shrimp and lobster sauce served with white rice, tofu and shrimp served with white rice, and egg foo young, all of which were excellent. Next time around I'll have to try the beef lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, or perhaps one of the many seafood dishes.

As far as dining atmosphere goes, you couldn't ask for anything better. Classy, yet casual, comfortable lighting and plenty of tables. Perfect place for a family dinner, yet peaceful enough to bring a date. Most definitely a place where you can relax and enjoy yourself for a while, as opposed to some "take out only" establishments.

If you're seeking quality Chinese food, look no further than Sing restaurant in Fairport. I happen to live one town over, but would honestly drive many miles to eat here. Dine in, take out, or delivery, Sing restaurant does it all. As a matter of fact, they even have a website which offers online ordering: [WWW]http://www.singrestaurantfairport.com/

Truly a hidden gem, and highly recommended. —TommyW

2011-06-05 07:42:26   Although we can't be certain, the review above certainly reads like a shill from either someone associated with the restaurant, or a pro that gets paid to write stuff like this. Just my impression... —DottieHoffmann

2011-06-05 21:30:53   Dottie, according to [WWW]http://whatismyipaddress.com/ip/67.242.171.120 the IP address of the original comment is in Hilton... certainly a heck of lot more than "One town over" from Fairport. And yeah, that's not the sort of description made by a non-interested reviewer. —RichMulvey

2011-06-05 22:52:11   Whoa... Relax, everyone. I registered here simply to write an honest, detailed review for this particular restaurant. No, I am not a "pro that gets paid to write stuff like this" (I'm slightly flattered you would say that, actually), nor do I have any affiliation with the restaurant. As far as being "one town over", I'm located in Penfield, and the restaurant is in Fairport. I consider that to be one town over.

Seriously, I'm just trying to spread the word. This restaurant is great, and there is absolutely no reason to trash my review, or this wiki entry. —TommyW

2011-07-13 14:27:18   Tried for takeout. When I arrived, 20 minutes after ordering, order had not been started and "waitress" was busy assisting the cook. They were the only two staff on duty. Ordered online. It is better to order by phone. Waitress explained that there was delay of 10 minutes or more for online orders.

Although restaurant was empty (at 7 PM on a Saturday) and only one other order was pending, I had to wait another 20 minutes. Hot and sour soup was good and noodles which were cut into small squares, seemed to have been freshly made. Vegetable egg foo yung was full of vegetables including broccoli and came with a dark sauce that was better than the usual gravy served elsewhere. Waitress explained that egg foo young was cooked one omelet at a time so that was part of the delay. Sczechuan Chicken had a good sauce, but the only vegetables were onions and peppers. Chicken was cut with the grain which made it stringy and gave it an odd feel when chewing. Shrimp egg rolls were crisp and had a good amount of shrimp. I would come back again, but would allow more time for preparation. —JGourmet

2011-07-30 17:48:51   As of July 30th restaurant seems to be out of business. I arrived at 5:30 to pick up an online order sent hours earlier and found the door locked and the inside dark. No cars were parked outside. Ordering takes place through a third party system so there was no indication that it would not be filled. In fact, there was an email verification. —JGourmet

2011-08-01 12:39:19   JGourmet, their voicemail says that they are closed due to a family emergency, so they may not be permanently closed. —TippingPoint

2011-08-06 20:42:58   As of the evening of Aug 6, we drove by the restaurant and it was dark, with a large "For Rent" sign in the window. So I'm guessing it's closed for good. —RichMulvey
