St. John Fisher College, located in Pittsford, was founded in 1948, and operates on a semester academic calendar.

The college is divided up into the College of Arts and Sciences, the Wegmans School of Pharmacy, the Wilson School of Education, the Bittner School of Business, and the Wegmans School of Nursing. They are continuously expanding to create a better future for more. The College now offers 32 academic majors in the humanities, social sciences, sciences, business, and nursing, as well as 9 pre-professional programs along with 12 graduate programs and 3 doctoral programs.

For 2010-2011, annual tuition for full-time students was $24,800. Room and board costs were $10,290 per year.

Activities
Students may choose from a wide range of campus clubs and organizations, including student government, music groups, language clubs, cultural organizations, student publications, and intramural sports. Many academic departments also sponsor clubs.

Athletics
Athletics are an important part of campus life. The College is a Division III member of the NCAA, the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference, and the Empire 8.

Men compete in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, and tennis, and track & field. Women compete in basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, and track & field.

Financial Aid
100% of first-year students receive some form of financial assistance. The average offer to incoming students is nearly $20,000. Need-based and merit-based scholarships, as well as grants, loans, and part-time employment, are available for eligible students.

History
Founded in 1948 by the Congregation of St. Basil as a Catholic College for men, St. John Fisher College became independent in 1968 and coeducational in 1971 and continues to honor its Catholic and Basilian heritage.
