Prices, while not outrageous, are just high enough to make you question whether you are really getting your money's worth. The smattering of passive-aggressive "notes" are just civil enough to cover up the fact that they're not really friendly. The service has always been very slow but I got used to it. My most recent visit was yesterday (Sunday) around 9:30AM and I bought a latte. The steamed milk was hot enough to scald my tongue so badly that a day later it’s still sore and swollen. In over a year of living a block away (and eating there often), I have never found a time of day when there is not at least one other customer in the shop. If you only stop by once, try the Artichoke Dip & Blue Chips, it's fantastic.
