2010-01-18 16:58:21   My husband and I had eaten here twice, both experiences were excellent! We've had a sushi/sashimi for two dinner - the most wonderfully fresh and beautifully prepared combination of several different types of fish in nigiri and sashimi as well as a dragon roll preceeded by soup and salad. This past visit we had a selection of different maki sushi rolls and my husband ordered Yakisoba, both were simply delicious. They have an surprising selection of sakes to offer as well. The hibachi chef had a table nearby roaring with laughter while he prepared their dinner, the waitstaff was very friendly and helpful on both occassions. I found the prices to be quite good compared to other places offering similar menu items in the area. I hope this place does well, stop in and enjoy - don't forget to bring your friends! —StephanieTodd

2010-04-21 11:49:28   The specialty rolls are beautifully presented, fresh, and delicious. I've been here 3-4 times with a group of friends, and we always have a great time. The happy hour special is a deal that's hard to beat, too (buy 1 roll, get a second for $1 extra). We've always had great servers, too. Sunrise is a great addition to the selection of fine Japanese restaurants in Rochester. —Cherkwai

2010-06-16 14:58:33   Went here a few weeks ago with my family. It was a fairly expensive outing and I was not impressed. We were pretty much alone in the restaurant but our waitress was not very interested in us. The food was ok, but certainly overpriced. My well behaved toddler said "please" and "thank you" to the waitress but she made no eye contact with him. Again, the food is ok but with the prices, they could do better. —RocDoc

2010-10-30 07:03:38   We came here Tuesday night (10/26) to take advantage of a 20% off hibachi coupon we got in the mailbox, exactly the kind of flyer I usually ignore and throw out, but the ad on the back page caught my eye. We had a nice dinner: I think the hibachi here is better than the one at Plum Garden in Pittsford Plaza, but the miso soup was a bit bland. This is a very safe choice of restaurant in terms of being suitable for a variety of eating tastes, but it's not an adventurous choice by any long shot. I was satisfied with our meal and experience. —KatieSchmitz
