The Lobster Trap, open since 1985 was a seafood market in East Rochester that attempted to replicate the lobster shanties that are found in Maine where one can purchase lobster for a reasonable price. According to The Lobster Trap, they shipped fresh Maine lobster in on a daily basis. Judging by their storefront (it really did replicate a shanty) and their longevity in the area, I have to assume that they did something very right.

November 2020, the owners retired after 35 years in business.
