I moved from Italy to Rochester, NY at the end of August 2007 with my wife Cristina, who's been awarded a Fulbright scholarship to attend a PhD program in Optics at the UoR.

I like music, good food and good wines. I especially enjoy cooking for my friends and sharing my wine tasting experiences.

I've always enjoyed eating and cooking as a form of communication and sharing and I had the chance to eat in many places around the world, speak with several cooks and attend cooking lessons from famous chefs. I seriously started exploring the world of wine when I was 18 after a friend of mine, during a dinner in a restaurant near Urbino (Italy), told us that "every wine should be drunk in a proper glass". That struck me and literally changed my life: I read all the books and magazines I could find, started attending tasting courses and visiting wineries all around Italy and, eventually, abroad. I know very well Italian, French, especially Champagne, Alsace, Bordeaux and Bourgogne regions, and Spanish wines. I've tasted many Californian wines and visited Napa Valley a couple of times. I've also spent a week in Oregon in 2006, visiting the wine country.
