I'm quite passionate about food and wine in general. I've dined in New York, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Toronto extensively and feel that Rochester's diners are as savvy as their more metropolitan counterparts (well, some of them)
That being said, with the exception of Adam Wilcox and Michael Warren Thomas, the food reviews you access via the local media are generally lacking in knowledge or accuracy. The situation is exacerbated as the needed knowledge of food and wines (especially) is increased.
