I have lived in Rochester since February 8, 1989, and my years here have been the best of my life. Rochester is a GREAT city, and I even said so in an interview with Greg Livadas in the May 2003 issue of the Democrat & Chronicle's Living Here supplement:
"Why did you decide to settle in Rochester?" I had the chance to interview for a public relations and writing/editing position at NTID and just really enjoyed the community I found here.
"What do you like best about Rochester?" I love the summers here. I really do enjoy all the weather, actually. Also, I love the fact that the housing market has allowed me to buy several interesting houses over the years. I also love the lack of traffic and the proximity to Lake Ontario and the Finger Lakes.
"What do you think is Rochester's best hidden treasure?" The civility of the people here. We seem to be rather nice to one another here, and I like that.
Addendum: I'm also proud to say that I was here for the record-setting 10" snowfall May 9, 1989 (which made me wonder about my choice of home) and for the 1991 ice storm, which left my house without power for 8 days.

2007-11-25 18:48:37 I am at Geneseo now (4th year). Things are going well, I suppose. Once you get that dissertation done, you will feel an overwhelming sense of relief and never want to look at the thing again. Unfortunately, you have to and the errors glare. :)
2007-11-26 13:41:54 Thanks for adding new parks to the wiki. Just make sure to create links to any new pages you create. I've already taken care of this for you, so this is more for future reference. —DaveMahon
2007-11-27 17:26:48 Katie-we should have lunch sometime....free someday?? Weekends are better... —PeteB
2007-11-28 20:37:49 No biggie. You're still new to the whole generating new pages. I hope I didn't come off sounding grumpy, because as much as unlinked articles bother me, I LOVE seeing new material in the wiki - especially when it's not about restaurants! —DaveMahon
