The WNY Wreckers is a Wheelchair Rugby team founded in 2013 that is based right here in Rochester. They are currently developing and practicing to become a professional sports team.
Inspired by the team that the 2005 movie "Murderball" was based on, this is every bit the rugged sport that the traditional Rugby sport is. Quad Rugby is not for the faint of heart. It is easy to see players get tossed from their wheelchairs after a collision.
The WNY Wreckers welcomes the support of the Rochester community. Anyone interested in playing is encouraged to come see a practice - schedule is on the website.
