Wineries

Wineries are abundant in the greater area around Rochester and we take pride in our Finger Lakes Wine Country. There are several hundred vineyards and wineries within a number of American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) across Western New York and Canada that are reasonably accessible from the Rochester region. In addition to the Finger Lakes AVA, we also have access to wineries in the Lake Erie AVA along Lake Erie west of Buffalo, and some great Ice Wine country in Ontario, Canada north and west of Niagara Falls along Lake Ontario. The Niagara Escarpment AVA was added in 2005 and recognized wineries in the Niagra Wine Trail.

Wineries are normally categorized by their AVA, the lake upon which they depend, or a designation and/or membership in one of the regions official Wine Trails.
