2009-10-30 14:28:19   The people who work there are very friendly, I believe it's family owned and operated. The food is bar food, good but not great. Also, I would suggest going for bottled beer, as sometimes the beer on the tap tastes a little off. —meghanoo

2009-10-30 14:57:05   I have eaten there twice and loved my meals both times. The stuffed fish (can't remember what kind) was amazing—like clams casino only a nicer, milder taste. The staff is extremely friendly and hopefully they will keep it up after it has been open a while and the honeymoon is over. It seems to be a family business, our waitress's grandmother seated us and her father owns the place. (Or is one of the owners.) The seats next to the bar can be a bit noisy but I am looking forward to watching football here one Sunday. Nice place, I will be back and it may become one of my standard places to go. —BadFish

2009-11-02 10:08:02   Tried this place twice now and was dissapointed. I agree to that the beer on tap tasted FUNKY both times and the bar food is just frozen and deep fried. My friends who were meeting us there got yelled at by the owner in the parking lot because he claimed we were bay goodman pizza customers and using his lot for parking. He didnt even apologize when we went in. They or I will never go back after being yelled at like that. Congratulations to the owner on scaring us away! You have some stiff competition and that certainly was not welcoming. —MckenzieS

2009-12-27 21:49:06   I went there for the first time tonight and found the staff to be very gracious and friendly. The food was good, including a number of vegetarian options and house-made potato chips, and the prices are reasonable. The layout offers a nice combination of bar space (with a good number of TVs for watching sports, as we were) and sit-down dining area. —JohnBrach

2010-02-03 09:12:53   Great place for food and drinks. DEFINITELY try the wings - I consider myself a wing snob and I havent had a bad batch there yet - they are huge and the sauce is great. The "hot" choice is perfect - definitely spicy but not so hot to give you mouth sores and burn out your colon the next day (thankfully). The staff has always been welcoming and I think they have done a great job with the place (especially considering it had been a vacant building for years). PLUS they are handicap-accessible (rear entrance) - a nice surprise and amazingly helpful if you have a friend who requires a wheelchair as we do. I *DO* wish they had a few more beers on tap (however they do have most of the icons, including Guinness). Overall I am VERY glad the Flynn family decided to open up a new place in the neighborhood. —estone

2010-10-25 21:24:49   A neighborhood bar. No fuss, no muss. —BatGuano

2012-03-28 18:12:32   I went here last night after the Sabres game atmosphere was lacking across the road at The Winfield. This place was more like what I wanted. They actually turned the volume up on the TV! —BatGuano

2013-12-04 11:22:12   Went here last night to watch a basketball game. Decent selection of beer on tap, good standard pub grub and really awesome prices. The interior of this place is really nice and new too. Great neighborhood bar with good service and atmosphere. Their wings were really good too actually, and they actually give you a full dozen instead of 10 like everywhere else. We'll definitely be back here. —alexd1234

2016-05-10 16:45:40   Been to the Wintonaire on and off for the past few years. It's a fine neighborhood bar. Okay beers, okay food. Never liked the service. The bar staff seems inexperienced and understaffed. The place is a bit loud. Not sure why this bugs me, but they use photos of random food they find on Google and then Photoshop them and use them on their Social Media. —DE
