Zweigle's is a local company that manufacturers sausages and hot dogs. Their website describes their background:
"It all started in a small Rochester, NY neighborhood back in 1880. C. Whilehem Zweigle and his wife Josephine Zweigle started making homemade quality sausages in a small butcher shop. The sausages were so delicious that their reputation for great flavor and superior taste soon spread throughout the city.
In 1925, Zweigle’s introduced the first white hot dog, locally known as the “white hot.” It is the most unique product that people associate with the Zweigle’s name, and what the people in Rochester, NY now take pride in knowing the exclusivity of this product.
In 1968 Zweigle’s Inc. moved to 651 Plymouth Ave. North, still in the city of Rochester, NY. This helped to lay the foundation on which Zweigle’s was run by the late Robert H. Berl, 3rd Generation and CEO.
As Zweigle’s popularity grew, the first expansion took place for administrative offices in the early 1970’s.
In 2004, Zweigle’s broke ground to expand the production facility. The new state of the art facility has made it possible to maintain our current client base but also expand into new markets along the east coast.
Today, Zweigles Inc. is in the 4th and 5th generation of the Zweigle’s family as a women-owned business. Zweigle’s is locally known for our quality hot dogs, sausages and deli products that have become a popular "must have" tradition. These Old World recipes are part of our proud heritage of quality. We are also introducing new and innovative products such as our specialty sausages and free range product. Our Zweigle’s products can be found across NY State and into MA, MD and VA.
Zweigle’s has many partnerships among the Western New York community. They are the official hot dog of the Buffalo Sabres, Rochester Amerks, Rochester Rhinos, and we have been serving the Rochester Red Wings for over 50 years.
