The EcoHouse, a part of the Minowan Environmental Coop, is an sustainability-themed cooperative house located on Genesee Street. Here current and former students of the University of Rochester live and attempt to change their world. These are the people who are currently living at the Ecohouse.

Established in 2003, the EcoHouse is a well-known organization in the University of Rochester community, hosting renowned pot-lucks and theme parties—including the internationally (by our friends studying abroad) known "Occupational Funk Party" on Halloween. We host neighborhood 19th Ward pot-lucks every Friday, or outsource to our next-door neighbors at the Eggplant. To sustain our co-op for many more years, we went through the process of incorporating our coop. We have a small website available for more urgent events, but all other eco-information will be listed on our pages here.

The EcoHouse, although still in its stages of formation, has also been the subject of an anthropological study.

We cook dinners regularly, and try to eat together as much as possible. We welcome guests and encourage anyone interested to get in contact with us and come find out what we are about. Hopefully our cooking schedule will be updated and available soon at EcoHouse/Cooking or at the URL listed above.

We also work on projects in and around the house as well as outside, check out these projects at our Projects Page

We like to branch out and are also involved with these friendly organizations:
