Ace Superette was a former deli and grocery in Charlotte, located across from Charlotte Beach. Store had been owned by different generations of family since the 1940s. Sam and Marian Accorso purchased it in July 1970. In the mid-70s, they decided to sell homemade submarine sandwiches. The subs were a town favorite for nearly 30 years until the family business got sold to new owners in the spring of 2003. Ace Superette, while famous for their subs, sold groceries, candy, beer, pop, lottery tickets, ice cream, cigarettes, hats, t-shirts, comic books and small toys. As of 2009, it is now Sylvio’s Pizzeria and Catering.
