Alexander Street Apartments is an apartment complex that combines homes for people who are recovering from mental illness with traditional affordable housing.
The rehabilitation agency East House is partnering with PathStone Development on a three-story, 60-unit building which is now a parking area behind East House's headquarters at Monroe Square and across the street from Monroe High School.
Half the apartments will be dedicated to people in recovery and the other half to people whose incomes are 60 percent or less of the area median income.
A ground breaking ceremony is planned for December 16, 2015.
