Ann Marie Buerkle was the U.S. Representative for New York's 25th congressional district, elected in 2010 in an upset of incumbent Dan Maffei. The election results took several weeks to be recounted and had less than a 600 vote difference. In 2012 she lost of Mr. Maffei in a bid for New York's 24th congressional district (redistricting occurred in 2011). She is a member of the Republican Party.
