Belhurst Castle, built in the 1880's, was originally intended to be a private residence. It is located in Geneva, on the shores of Seneca Lake. Throughout it's history, it has been a casino, a supper club, and a speakeasy.

In 2003, 30,000 square feet were added to the property. It is now primarily serves as a restaurant and luxury inn. The castle is also a popular choice for weddings and special events.

In 2007, Belhurst Castle was awarded the Democrat & Chronicle's Rochester's Choice Award for "Romantic Atmosphere".1

Belhurst Castle is listed on the [WWW]National Register of Historic Places. NRIS 86003728, January 29, 1987 - Building - Romanesque Architecture/Engineering 1874-1899. by Albert W. Fuller- 1881,1891

2008-06-03 16:18:24   I have not stayed here or eaten here, but I'm sure it's very expensive! We stopped here on our last wine tour and the wine was good, but pricey. The wine tasting room, part of the expansion, is beautiful, as is the rest of the place. —SaraChristine

2008-07-21 16:26:11   The atmosphere and location is very majestic. However, the food left a lot to be desired. Go to tour, not to eat. —BurbsGal
