The Bonsai Society of Upstate New York was founded in 1972 by enthusiasts of the traditional Japanese art of the bonsai tree. Today, they host renown bonsai professionals for lectures, demonstrations, and workshops. An exhibit open to the public is held each spring. There is a $5 fee for members and $10 for non-members at all special events help offset the speakers' travel costs.

Regular meetings are held in Buckland Park at 1341 Westfall Road, between South Winton Road and Lac de Ville Blvd.
