Buzzo Music is a record store and musical instrument store on Main Street in Geneseo.
Local legend Al "Buzzo" Bruno
Chirstine Cusano,Lamron
"After 38 years on Main Street, Geneseo, Al "Buzzo" Bruno and Buzzo's Music have become a cornerstone of the campus and local community.
Smiling behind an iconic white beard that swirls around his face like cotton candy, Buzzo approaches each customer with a husky, soft-spoken friendliness, and his store is as accommodating as his personality.
... Customers often relate the feeling of going into Buzzo's to that of walking into an old friend's home, and it's not far from the truth. Buzzo lives below the store, and has been a local of Geneseo since he arrived as a college undergraduate in 1967. ...
Geneseo Declares Buzzo Day - May 23, 2004
"WHEREAS, the establishment known as Buzzo Music Ltd. has been open and in business at 108 Main Street in the Village of Geneseo for thirty-three and one-third years.
AND WHEREAS, Buzzo Music Ltd. has been a unique and exemplary specialty shop, well known for miles around, bringing customers to the Village.
AND WHEREAS, Al Bruno, proprietor of Buzzo Music Ltd., has long cultivated an image and personality charming and distinctive in its character.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Village of Geneseo hereby declares May 23, 2004 to be recognized as “Buzzo Day” with ceremony and festivities at the Village Park.
A previous Democrat & Chronicle story:
"Today, Bruno, more commonly known as "Buzzo," the eccentric owner of Buzzo Music Ltd., is one of Geneseo's most recognizable celebrities. Occasionally clad in a bathrobe and slippers while blowing a trumpet on Main Street, his marches around town are legendary.
But on this typical Tuesday, he is busy in his cramped shop at 106 Main St., sorting CDs and telling stories to his customers. He is wearing what he usually wears: a loud untucked shirt and a pair of shorts. He has five pens in his shirt pocket and sports a watch on each wrist. He has long gray and black hair and a matching beard, which he says haven't been cut since opening his store in 1970."

2006-09-06 06:17:11 He has been selling these really nice new ukelele's for $27 lately - everyone should have one! The Seagull guitars are nice too - under $500, but sound like they are over $2000. —TomKaminski
