	+ ------ + ''2014-02-17 16:40:20'' [[nbsp]] we recently visited chinese hometown (friday and then today, the following monday) and found that the business has changed owners, and has changed their menu. while we are pretty bummed at some of those changes, the food is still very good, and as always the staff are very helpful and friendly- when you have the good luck to have someone who speaks english available. even when you cannot, it is still fun to point and draw pictures and such to get your point across. + we were particularly thrilled to find a more authentic wonton soup than i have seen in this area, with thin, silky noodles enveloping the meatball rather than thick, doughy ones. the hours are also better, being open on mondays at 11, when they used to open at 4. we haven't tried the take-out yet, so i cannot attest to an improvement in that area. we look forward to going back soon, probably tomorrow, and trying more of the new dishes. + luckily for us, a woman who came in from michegan to help with the change-over and spoke english relatively well, wrote some important phrases (no mushrooms, no seafood, etc.) down for us in chinese to ensure future visits will be easier for us and the chef should we arrive (like we did today) before an english-speaking staff-person is available. --["Users/jeanettejeanette"]

Our server was very attentive, and made recommendations. I went for the orange pork. I was disappointed. The meat was bland; no amount of frying or saucing could hide that fact. They are stingy with their tea; one pot; that's it. My sweet had a Thai dish which looked something like pork lo mein. It was very tasty (and spicy). The steamed dumplings were served bathed in a hot chili sauce. They were very good. Our server was well intentioned and eager to please, but she could not figure out how to correctly swipe my credit card. + + As for parking. It's a challenge. The restaurant is located next to the California Brew Haus. You can park on the street in front of the restaurant (not recommended). There is a parking lot in the rear, which can be accessed off of Dewey Avenue. It's a bit of a maze to get to the back entrance. It would help if the restaurant installed some signage over the rear door. + + They jury is still out.
