Our Christianity page provides a central index to the practice of the Christian religion within the Greater Rochester community. It includes mainline and Evangelical Protestants, Catholics, and Christian Orthodox churches. Religions such as Unitarian Universalist, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bahai, and Jehova's witnesses are not included, as they are not universally considered to be Christian. According to an article from www.theara in 2000 about 50% of Monroe County Residents professed to be of a Christian faith. Of this 50%, 71% were Catholic, 27% Protestant, and 2% Orthodox Christians. |
