The food (new menu, with a heavy Mexican orientation) was surprisingly excellent! We had a calamari appetizer that was very tasty, with a little Pico de Gallo "hidden" in the mix. I had the carne asada tacos, and my wife a "torta burger", both very tasty. I am Mexican and, based on the flavor of the food, could tell the cook is also Mexican, which the restaurant owner (a nice, very friendly, but not in-your face kind of guy) corroborated. Drinks (a The Kind IPA for me and a Prosseco for my wife) were good, though the beer/spirits wine seemed, at sight, perhaps a little more limited than what one has grown accustomed to see (e.g, not lots of microbrewery/tequila/mezcal/bourbon options, etc.) Decor is not necessarily my cup of tea (a little plain, perhaps even uninviting), but perfectly adequate. Clientele seemed to be older than what other places in the East End seem to attract, which I personally welcomed. Lots of regulars, too, it seemed. A very nice person we conversed with a little even paid for our first round of drinks! (we only found out after he and his wife had left—thank you Carl and Nanette!) It's almost a little too nice - it seems like something Jon Taffer on Bar Rescue would build, but not quite. It's a little expensive. The clientele is that of a wealthy older crowd, which is nice for the area. I didn't have the food but it looked good and their menu was solid. I'll be back. --["Users/DE"]
