The Empty Closet is New York State's longest continually published LGBTQ newspaper. It was founded in January 1971 at the University of Rochester by a student group called the Gay Liberation Front and is now published by The Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley. The Gay Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocate, educate and celebrate the lives of LGBTQ people, allies and their families.
