Primarily catering to the jazz fan who's in desperate need of a fix, Flat Iron Cafe features live jazz every weekend. Live comedy is scheduled the first Friday every month when Millie "Moosie" Quinonez performs Through the Eyes of a Bronx Girl at 9pm. PARADIGM SHIFT and Gray Mayfield put Flat Iron Cafe on the map during the first year, performing a weekly Sunday Jazz show. Many other stars have left their marks on the cafe to include Juliet Lloyd, Jimmie Highsmith Jr, Harold Pannell, Mo'Mo' Betta Blues, Hard Logic, Sean Jefferson and Jazz Mad Lab, Freddy Colon Latin Jazz Quartet, Cinnamon, Flipside, Double Stuff, Deborah Branch. Flat Iron Cafe has also gone out of the way to recognize the upcoming young artists from RCSD School of the Arts as well as many, many up and coming young Jazz Bands from Eastman School of Music. A full espresso bar, deserts, fine beer and wine, and of course the world famous Coup de Grace Panini Sandwich is available. Not your typical cafe... the glass front looks out onto the city's busiest, most culturally diverse intersection where there's always something to look at. The Chinese own Win Fa Market, Greeks own Rochester Auto Glass, Jamacians own the purple building that noone seems to no what's going on with. The Puerto Rican owned Rochester Pawn Brokers is next to the Indian owned ABC Driving School and Nextel who are neighbors to the Mexican owned Village. On this same block you will find businesses owned and operated by Vietnamese. There's even a country bar behind the cafe. Where else in Rochester do you find such a culturally diverse collection of businesses. The story on the Cafe is worth stopping in and asking about. You'll hear of how the infamous Lake and Lyell corner and Porn Shop co-existed for years before the Renaissance. If you like to root for the underdog, if you like mega-metro energy comparable to NYC, then you'll fall hard for Flat Iron Cafe!
-
-
- [[Comments]]

+ deleted

https://rocwiki.org/Flatiron_Cafehttps://rocwiki.org/Flatiron_Cafe?action=recall&version=1&ts=1179887920Flatiron Cafe2007-05-23T02:38:40ZMap location(s) modifiedhttps://rocwiki.org/Flatiron_Cafehttps://rocwiki.org/Flatiron_Cafe?action=diff&version1=0&version2=1&ts=1179887919Flatiron Cafe2007-05-23T02:38:39ZpetebCreated
Differences for Flatiron Cafe

 Deletions are marked with - .

 Additions are marked with +.

Line 1:

Line 1:

+ ||<bgcolor='#E0E0FF'>'''Location'''||
+ ||[[Address("561 State Street, Rochester, NY 14608")]] ||
+ ||<bgcolor='#E0E0FF'>'''Hours''' (as of May 2007)||
+ ||Monday-Thursday: 4:00pm-11:00pm||
+ ||Friday: 4:00pm-Midnight||
+ ||Saturday: 10:00am-Midnight||
+ ||Sunday: 10:00am-11:00pm||
+ ||<bgcolor='#E0E0FF'>'''Phone'''||
+ ||585 454-4830||
+ ||<bgcolor='#E0E0FF'>'''Accessible'''||
+ ||Yes||
+ ||<bgcolor='#E0E0FF'>'''Alcohol'''||
+ ||Unknown||
+ ||<bgcolor='#E0E0FF'>'''Website'''||
+ ||http://www.flatironcafe.net||
+ ##||<bgcolor='#E0E0FF'>'''Reviews'''||
+ ##||[http://www.ReviewSite.com/path Year-Month-Day Media Name review]||
+
+
+ Flat Iron Cafe is the Norther Anchor of the High Falls District.
