Originally organized in Rochester in 1966 as the Aero Flying Club, the Club name was later changed to Artisan, befitting the character of our membership. The Artisan Flying Club is incorporated in New York State as a not-for-profit corporation. Members, through the Club, own (4)four well equipped IFR certified Piper aircraft and emphasize aviation safety, education and participation. All planes are right at the airport in individual T hangars. The Club is based at the Greater Rochester International Airport, in Rochester, New York, USA. As a tower-controlled airport, KROC is well suited to the capabilities of the Club's aircraft.76% of current Artisan members hold Instrument Ratings.
