Hamamatsu

Wikimedia Image Hamamatsu is a city in Japan and became a Sister City to Rochester in 1996. Like Rochester, the city sits on both a lake and river.

Hamamatsu, population 813,369 (2009), was recently enlarged to encompass many surrounding communities. Its current population puts it slightly ahead of Monroe County.
