Jerk Hutt Exprezz was a Jamaican restaurant in EMMA. The location opened in 2012 (under the name Natural Vibes Jerk Hut 2) as a sit-down companion to the take-out-only Natural Vibes (which was first on Thurston Road, then Lincoln Avenue, and finally on Chili Avenue1). In 2015 a new owner took over both locations, renaming them Jerk Hut Express and retaining the same menu and chef.2 Shortly thereafter the Culver location was renamed Jerk Hutt Exprezz; at some point the take-out operation vanished, and the Culver Road restaurant closed in the first few months of 2020.

2008-07-03 11:29:39 This place is great! BIG portions. Try the curry shrimp for dinner.
If you're there for breakfast or lunch, get the ackee and saltfish. Irish moss is tasty as well. —mkung
2008-07-06 14:37:52 This food is amazing. All of it is amazing, including the fresh fruit juice (the pineapple with ginger - so good). —Mcontolini
2008-12-18 13:21:26 I really like this place. I live right down the block. The food is terrific! Oh, and the portions are very large so you have leftovers. —Anthony
2009-03-23 20:23:46 I tried to go here last Tuesday. Sign on the door said they've moved to 145 Lincoln Ave, between West Ave and Forbes Street. —AutumnHaag
2009-06-07 23:06:18 I am not sure if the new location is owned by the same people. The vibe seems completely different from what is described above. It is a tiny take out place located in not the safest neighbourhood. However, the food was excellent. I had the rice and peas, jerk chicken and cabbage and everything was very tasty. A pretty good deal for $8! It took a little work to get their attention to place an order but they were very friendly. I would be back (but probably only while it is light out). —OneLove
2009-07-17 12:29:38 This place when it used to be on thurston was amazing. Great vegetarian food, super friendly people working there. Unfortunately the vegetarian spot has closed and when they say they moved to lincoln, what they really mean is that they closed natural vibes and are trying to get their clientele to go to their non-vegetarian jerk hut (owned by the same people). Both times i have gone to this location they had NO vegetarian food besides a few side dishes.
When Natural Vibes closed, a little part of me died :( —GioD
2009-08-23 11:30:36 Me and a friend went, bummed that we'd missed the veg place when it was here. We asked what veg dishes they had and were offered veg chicken. Super tender, super yummy— we got one in curry and one in a stew. We'll be back!! —AmandaOHearn
2011-01-12 15:53:33 Great food, and lots of it.
Love the oxtail, mon. —NicoD
2012-11-03 17:04:05 "Natural Vibes Jerk Hut 2" recently opened just north of the Gulf station at the corner of Culver and Atlantic - 659 Culver or thereabouts. —markjackson
2013-11-20 16:47:59 Visited the Culver Rd location recently. Ordered curry chicken, jerk chicken and oxtail dinners along with a couple meat pies as appetizers. Everything was very fresh and flavorful and the portions were generous. The staff was very courteous and friendly and the restaurant was really clean. I will most certainly be back here soon to try some other menu items (curry goat - hell yeah!). —jjjingleheimer
2019-06-07 14:38:36 Signage and business cards for Culver location name it "Jerk Hutt Exprezz"; no mention of the Lincoln Ave. operation (which Google Maps seems unaware of also). —markjackson
2020-08-04 11:41:02 I don't recall seeing them open since the beginning of the pandemic, and the signage was removed from the building a couple of weeks ago. Almost certainly closed. —markjackson
