If all goes well, that'll be the penultimate stop on next weekend's shopping trip. --["RyanTucker"]
+ ------
+ 2008-01-29 16:12:09 nbsp I am friends with the owner of Mis en Place, and it will be opening on friday morning. There will be breakfast ready to go from what I hear, and yes prepared foods, think mini wegmans, good selection, good prices, and from personal experience, the food is delicious, the owner (casey) was a sous chef at 2vine for many years, I`m very excited to see it open friday and cant wait to eat here, its hours are going to be 8am-9pm mon-sat --["AndyDean"]
+ ------
+ 2008-01-29 16:15:37 nbsp forgot to mention, full deli-boars head, olive bar, produce, salad bar, etc. --["AndyDean"]
+ ------
+ 2008-01-29 16:27:54 nbsp sweet, produce. I've been there a few times already. They have a variety of Boylan's sodas and a pretty complete deli. Their broccoli salad is delicious. They are getting many comments about being open for a few hours on Sunday and are thinking about it. It's a great addition to the neighborhood. --["MarcVera"]
+ ------
+ 2008-02-17 19:59:44 nbsp I think Mis En Place is great. I bought a rotisserie Chicken a week ago. The big difference between Mis En Place and Wegmans/Tops (which everything is compared to) is that no matter what Subaru Wagon you drive, to what Wegmans or Tops you shop at, you cannot get there, make your purchase and get back home with the rotisserie chicken still piping hot. But I can have a rotisserie chicken from door to door in under 2 minutes, including the sales process with my chicken still hot and with only a few dollars more than Wegmans. --["ShawnWallace"]
+ ------
+ 2008-02-25 02:28:34 nbsp great little place. some of the best meatloaf i've ever had --["DrKennethNoisewater"]
+ ------
+ 2008-03-02 15:14:28 nbsp I love this place. The food is great and reasonably priced. The staff are warm. An excellent addition to the South Wedge. --["FoxyandTuffy"]
+ ------
+ 2008-03-03 09:24:12 nbsp I stopped there last Friday on a whim. They serve lunches and have a small dine-in area. I took a Fish sandwich to go, which was excellent on a fresh multi-grain roll. I also substituted the macaroni salad for the fries, which was just ok, a little more mayo than I like. I would definitely recommend giving them a try. They also have a variety of products on the shelves, some unique ones I haven't seen elsewhere. --["JasonLee"]
+ ------
+ 2008-03-06 18:33:27 nbsp Fantastic food and fantastic staff. Try the chicken parmesan with ziti, I believe it's breaded in panko, and it's definitely made fresh to order. Even the croutons for the salad were fresh out of the oven! --["AlisonSchaal"]
+ ------
+ 2008-03-13 22:29:35 nbsp The cod that I got here was very fresh. They get their fish delivered every other day from ["Boston"] (See the City Newspaper review). They have a special kind of orange that has a pink flesh and is very sweet. --["BenMargolis"]
+ ------
+ 2008-03-22 20:22:29 nbsp It's great to have a pleasant, nicely decorated market-cafe in the neighborhood that cares about their customers, and offers such a consistently delicious choice of soups, entrees and salads. I started out with the veggie platter and was impressed by the quality of the hummus. Ken says he cooks it for 2 days! I can tell. All the food is fresh. I can count on a greeting when I walk in, with attentive and friendly staff-every time. In the 11 years I've been in the neighborhood, nothing compares to this. --["LeslieMacpherson"]
+ ------
+ 2008-07-07 20:39:06 nbsp Went on my way home from work. Staff was very helpful and attentive. I was able to sample some food before my purchase. Ordered the Chicken French to bring home. Two large pieces of chicken over a plate of ziti and salad. It was enough for two people. Also picked up the asian carrot salad (very good) and granola from the ["Little Bakery"]. I think they can do more with the floor space and sell more products. --["Users/ScottHendler"]
+ ------
+ 2008-09-21 09:41:42 nbsp Our friends brought us here for the first time last night. The owner's got the right attitude and great ideas. He is all about being in the service business and giving people what they want, ie customizing dishes to please customers. And he is willing to go find any obscure ingredient you'd like to order. He is thinking of opening a wine store next door so you can have wine with your meal and take home the rest of the bottle. As of now, you can choose any beverage out of the beverage cooler in the store to drink with your meal. You can also add anything sold in the store to your meal. He said, if someone doesn't like any of the soups offered for dinner, he has no problem heating up a canned soup from the store if that's what someone wants. He also wants to mimic Fresh Direct, and deliver groceries and prepared meals. The food was also out of this world. The scallops were the best we ever had, the steak was on par with Black and Blue, the flourless chocolate cake with white chocolate cream was amazing. I would highly recommend this to anyone. --["Users/DanetteFitzgerald"]
+ ------
+ 2008-10-25 11:49:12 nbsp This place has been such a fantastic addition to the neighborhood, and getting better all the time (i.e., they now sell beer). In addition to good, reasonably priced produce and other goods, the sandwiches are consistently very good. And, as others have mentioned on this page, the staff is extremely friendly (including the owner). Now, if the River Commons project would continue on its way ... we'd really have something here. --["Users/JimBarillo"]
+ ------
+ 2008-10-27 10:02:09 nbsp Really great place. Great beer selection, Boars Head meats, and all the essentials available there. An asset to the South Wedge neighborhood. --["Users/MrRochester"]
+ ------
+ 2008-12-09 17:22:30 nbsp I have been to this place twice: once for dinner and once for lunch. Both experiences were good. The atmosphere is a little unusual - a dining area in a corner of a neighborhood grocery - but it is clear that it is all about the food. They have an iron chef who's willing to do whatever he needs to please. I had an excellent New York Strip with broccoli; one of our party asked what other vegetables were available and they offered brussels sprout. From our experience as children we flatly rejected this suggestion, so they said "I'll tell you what, we make them a certain way that you might like, how about we make you a small side dish just to try?" We did, and they were very tasty.
+
+ I went back today for lunch and had an open-faced meatloaf sandwich with a mushroom glaze. It was outstanding - moist and delicious. With a bottle of Snapple it was around $9.
+
+ The two best things about this place are the quality of the cooking and their eagerness to make you happy. --["Users/ChristopherPiggott"]

https://rocwiki.org/Mise_en_Place_Market/Commentshttps://rocwiki.org/Mise_en_Place_Market/Comments?action=diff&version1=1&version2=2&ts=1250910629Mise en Place Market/Comments2009-08-22T03:10:29Zpetebremoved stray 2008 comment and put it back on main page
Differences for Mise en Place Market/Comments

Deletions are marked with - .

 Additions are marked with +.

Line 22:

Line 22:

- ------
- 2008-01-27 09:46:39 nbsp The owner of the new store stopped in at the Tap & Mallet last night and reports that opening is imminent, perhaps as soon as Friday. The more literal translation is 'put in place'. In cooking, it refers to having all you ingredients and utensils ready to go before cooking, so maybe it'll be another of those shops where you pick up partially prepared meals and bring them home to finish cooking them. --["RachelBlumenthal"]
+ ------
+ 2007-12-11 08:49:14 nbsp According to the lady I spoke to last week, who happens to works in the coffee shop next door (coffee connection?), she told me it's supposed to be a deli.
+
+ I'm hard pressed to understand why a deli could not thrive in the south wedge; Wilson Farms by so. clinton and No. Goodman seems to be thriving.
+
+ The Greengrocer was a noble effort, but obviously not what the neighborhood wanted. --["MrPhil"]
+ ------
+ 2007-12-11 08:53:02 nbsp Seems like a nice spot for a deli!
