Oatka Steak & Seafood was located in the village of Scottsville, town of Wheatland in the Southwestern portion of Monroe County, near the Genesee River and Oatka Creek.

As far as can be determined, the first part of the building was built in 1824 by James Brown, and opened by him as a public house. In 1827, the property passed in the possession of Elija T. Miller, who added the rear of the building. This building had been used continually as a public house until the end of the 1950’s.
