Most of the acts are bar bands and they work hard to play in the unfamiliar territory of a TV studio, and it seems almost unfair to them that the Jazz Fest acts are shown at the Fest, rather than being dragged to the studio for a separate performance. The format sometimes seems a bit stiff, more scripted than spontaneous, and some blame for that must go to Julia. --["GaryGocek"]
