The Park Avenue Holiday Open House is an annual holiday event hosted by the Park Avenue Merchants Association since 1993. It begins with an opening ceremony at the Park Avenue Green. Santa Claus arrives by horse-drawn wagon and joins the mayor for the lighting of the Christmas Tree and Menorah. There is usually a musical performance as well.
While children visit with Santa in his heated tent, the businesses along Park Avenue are open and offering special deals. You can also view an ice sculpture demonstration or take a carriage ride up and down the street. Please note that Park Avenue is not closed to traffic during this time, so both drivers and pedestrians should take care.
